Therapy services begin with a free 15 minute consultation to discuss your needs and goals in therapy. This phone call is also a good time to discuss fit with Dr. Magnuson. After discussion, it may be determined that your needs would be better treated with another clinician. Dr. Magnuson will provides resources and recommendations around appropriate avenues of treatment should this need arise. If it feels like a good fit, an intake appointment can be scheduled. 

There are varying measures and testing instruments used in the assessment. For additional information regarding testing, please visit the Services page of this website. If you have additional questions, feel free to contact Dr. Magnuson. 

Dr. Magnuson provides out-of-network coverage for all insurance providers and does not accept insurance. It is strongly recommended that you discuss coverage with your insurance provider before receiving an evaluation or beginning therapy if you plan to seek reimbursement. If you are seeking out-of-network coverage, Dr. Magnuson will provide you with a superbill that can be submitted to your insurance. Your insurance provider can discuss submission of a superbill and coverage possibilities with you. 

The No Surprises Act was passed in January of 2022, and it aims to eliminate surprise or unexpected costs when receiving health services. Based on Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers, such as psychologists, are required to share a "Good Faith Estimate" of service costs to individuals who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance. This "Good Faith Estimate" is given upon request or at the time of scheduling the service. A bill can be disputed if it is at least $400 more than this "Good Faith Estimate". Assessments:

Assessments typically range from $600 to $3,000 depending on the type of assessment and individual needs. Assessments fees include the testing session, report writing, and feedback with the provider. The hourly rate for assessments is $200 per hour. Dr. Magnuson will provide you with a Good Faith Estimate that matches the assessment needed prior to beginning services.

Therapy:

Therapy services cost $180 per session and sessions are 50 minutes in length.

Things happen and plans change. Please notify Dr. Magnuson through email or phone call of your cancellation at least 24 hours prior. If cancellation notice is not given, a $50 no show fee will be applied. 

Dr. Magnuson provides therapy services through virtual sessions only. These visits occur over a HIPAA-Compliant video conferencing platform. 

Dr. Magnuson provides assessment services in-person.
